Learn more about volleyball

Volleyball is a team sport played on a rectangular court divided by a net, where two teams of six players each aim to score points by sending a ball over the net and into the opposing team's court. The ball must be hit, not caught or thrown, and players are allowed a maximum of three touches to return the ball. The objective is to keep the ball from touching the ground on your side while trying to make it land on the opponent’s side. Points are scored when the ball hits the ground within the opponent’s court or when they fail to return it properly. Volleyball emphasizes teamwork, communication, and strategy, with key skills like serving, passing, setting, spiking, and blocking. Played both indoors and on sand (beach volleyball), it’s a fast-paced and exciting sport that is popular at all levels, from casual recreational play to competitive international tournaments like the Olympics.
