Learn more about ultimate frisbee
Ultimate frisbee, commonly known simply as "ultimate," is a non-contact team sport played with a flying disc (frisbee). The objective is to score points by catching the disc in the opposing team's end zone, similar to the end zones in American football or rugby. Players pass the disc to each other, but cannot run while holding it. Instead, they must establish a pivot foot and pass it to a teammate. The game is typically played with seven players per team on a grass or indoor court, though it can be adapted to other environments. Ultimate combines elements of soccer, football, and basketball, with fast-paced, strategic gameplay and an emphasis on sportsmanship. The "Spirit of the Game" is a key principle of ultimate, encouraging self-refereeing and mutual respect among players, even in competitive play. Ultimate is popular in both recreational and competitive circles, with a growing global community and regular tournaments, including the World Ultimate Championships.
