Aikido Vancouver Shomonkai
Aikido Vancouver Shomonkai is a non-profit organization dedicated to practicing traditional Aikido, a Japanese martial art based on the principle of non-conflict, as taught by Morihei Ueshiba, the Founder of Aikido. Founded by Suganuma Sensei, one of the last uchideshi of O-Sensei, the dojo adheres to the original teachings of Fukuoka, Japan. Located at the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre in Burnaby, the dojo offers weekly classes and invites the public to observe classes, demonstrations, and special events. Aikido Vancouver Shomonkai aims to cultivate spiritual harmony and promote the unique martial art of Aikido. With a focus on traditional practices, the dojo provides a unique opportunity for practitioners to connect with the art's rich history and philosophy.
