Founded by 10th degree Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt O'Sensei Georges Sylvain, the CJJU is now led by Hanshi Ed Hiscoe and Soke Steven Hiscoe, who oversee daily operations from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
