North Island Roller Derby
North Island Roller Derby (NIRD) is a not-for-profit flat track roller derby league based in the Comox Valley, BC, Canada, offering a safe and inclusive environment for skaters and officials of all levels. Established in 2024, the league aims to support the growth of roller derby on Vancouver Island and provide a learn-to-skate program through Cumberland Recreation. NIRD is comprised of WFTDA and open gender gameplay, promoting a fun and supportive community. The league is committed to respecting the traditional keepers of the land, the Kómoks First Nation, and acknowledges the Unceded Traditional Territory. By joining NIRD, individuals can become part of a dynamic and growing community of roller derby enthusiasts.
