Hip Hop in the Park
Hip Hop in the Park is a black and indigenous centered, community-run organization based in Edmonton, Alberta, dedicated to the preservation and development of Hip Hop Kulture. As a treaty 6-based organization, it prioritizes the well-being and empowerment of marginalized communities through the promotion of Hip Hop elements, cultural exchange, and community building. With a focus on social justice and self-empowerment, Hip Hop in the Park aims to create a culture of peace, love, unity, and having fun, while fostering a sense of belonging and connection among its members. Through various programs and initiatives, including the Hip Hop Appreciation Week, Cypher Shacks, and Hard in the Paint, Hip Hop in the Park seeks to promote the values of Hip Hop Kulture and provide a platform for self-expression and creativity. By doing so, it contributes to the development of a more caring and peaceful society.
