Theatre Prospero

Theatre Prospero is a Canadian arts organization based in Amiskwaciwâskahikan (ᐊᒥᐢᑲᐧᒋᐋᐧᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ) / Edmonton, Alberta, dedicated to creating and fostering mythic, classical, and poetic theatre for students and others through productions, residencies, and festivals. Founded in the last 20 years, the organization has reached over 100,000 students and teachers across Alberta and Canada through touring and virtual shows. Theatre Prospero acknowledges the traditional gathering place of Indigenous peoples in Treaty Six Territory and honours their history, languages, ceremonies, and culture. The organization partners with other organizations to enrich diversity and extend reach, and is supported by various funders. With a strong team and commitment to Indigenous reconciliation, Theatre Prospero continues to create impactful art.
