YOUTH VOICES OF NOVA SCOTIA SOCIETY
The Youth Voices of Nova Scotia Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing literacy and life-skills programs to youth in care, aged 14 to 18, through its newsletter group in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Established almost 20 years ago, the organization offers a unique platform for participants to share their experiences and connect with others in a cooperative group environment. Led by experienced team members, including Kaitlin Wolfe and Ammy Purcell, the organization aims to empower youth in care through writing and storytelling. The Voice Newsletter program welcomes participants from various backgrounds, including foster families, supportive relatives, and SAP housing. By providing a supportive space for self-expression, the organization helps youth in care develop essential life skills and build confidence.
