Cowichan Estuary Nature Centre
The Cowichan Estuary Nature Centre is a volunteer-operated, not-for-profit, registered Canadian charity located in the unceded and traditional territory of the Quwutsun People, overlooking the 400-hectare Cowichan Estuary, a key habitat for wildlife and an internationally designated Important Bird Area. As a nature interpretive centre, it offers interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, and live cameras to view the heron rookery, providing accessible conservation and education programs throughout the Cowichan and Koksilah Watershed. With no provincial or federal funding, the centre relies on community support to operate, and donations can be made via CanadaHelps or E-transfer. The centre aims to expand its program offerings and open hours with the help of donors like you. By becoming a member, sponsor, or volunteer, you can be part of the community that protects this incredible watershed.
