River of Light
The River of Light is a community-driven art project that brings together local residents, artists, and musicians to create a magical lantern installation in the woods and park of Maple Ridge. As Artist-in-Residence, Robi Smith, oversees the project, which has been running for four summers, with over 100 community members making lanterns in various shapes and designs. The lanterns are installed in Cross Cabins Park and Davidsons Pool, creating a stunning display of light and color that celebrates the local wildlife and natural beauty of the area. The project also features live music and storytelling performances, making it a unique and enchanting experience for all who attend.
