Cheakamus Centre
Cheakamus Centre is a centre of excellence for outdoor, environmental, and Indigenous cultural education, offering experiential programs for children and adults in a natural setting. Established in 1969, the centre is located on 165 ha of ecological reserve near Squamish, BC, on the traditional territories of the Chi'yakmesh people. With a focus on environmental education and cultural exchange, Cheakamus Centre provides a wide range of programs, including overnight field schools, cultural programs, and workshops. The centre is owned by the North Vancouver School District and has been designated as a LEED Platinum facility. By welcoming visitors from around the world, Cheakamus Centre fosters a sense of respect and appreciation for the natural world.
