Vancouver Biennale

Toni Latour is a queer femme white settler and second-generation Italian-Canadian artist, educator, and single mother living on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh, and Squamish Nations in Vancouver. Her practice encompasses photography, installation, text-based practices, drawing, video, sound, and public performance art, often addressing representation within the queer/trans/non-binary communities in Coast Salish Territory. With a background in fine arts from the University of Windsor and University of Western Ontario, Latour has exhibited nationally and internationally since 1994, receiving numerous grants and awards. Her work has been featured in various publications and collections, including the National Portrait Gallery of Canada and the Vancouver Biennale. As a professor and advocate for labour justice and equity, Latour continues to create impactful art and push boundaries in the art world.
