EcoEquitable
EcoEquitable is a registered charity dedicated to textile waste reduction and women's empowerment through the art of sewing, promoting a circular economy and inclusive, equitable, and environmentally sustainable practices. Founded in 2002, the organization provides sewing skills training, job referral programs, and public sewing classes, empowering women to pursue their creative passions and generate income. With a focus on community building and decolonization, EcoEquitable acknowledges the un-ceded lands of the Algonquin Anishinaabe territory and stands in solidarity with Indigenous communities. The organization is funded by the Government of Canada and the City of Ottawa, and its mission is to build a world where dignity and unique gifts are valued and promoted. By supporting EcoEquitable, individuals can contribute to a more sustainable and equitable future.
