Manotick and Area Centre for Arts & Wellness

The Manotick and Area Centre for Arts & Wellness, also known as MACAW, is a community organization dedicated to fostering intergenerational connections among seniors through arts and wellness programs. Established in 1956, MACAW utilizes the historic Manotick United Church hall to host various activities such as Tai Chi, yoga, art, music, and dance classes, as well as community dances and concerts. With the support of local volunteers and funding from the Government of Canada's New Horizon for Seniors Program, MACAW offers virtual and live events and activities that promote socialization and well-being among seniors. By providing a platform for seniors to engage in creative pursuits and connect with their community, MACAW aims to enhance the quality of life for seniors in the area. Through its various programs and events, MACAW seeks to promote arts and wellness as a means of fostering intergenerational connections and community engagement.
