Afiwi Groove School

Welcome to Afiwi Groove School, a federally incorporated nonprofit community arts and culture organization in Durham Region. Founded in 2013, we empower, educate, and inspire through African and Caribbean dance, drumming, storytelling, cultural education, and community programming. Our mission is to promote positive self-esteem, confidence, and an active lifestyle while connecting participants to the Arts and Culture of the African Diaspora. At Afiwi Groove School, you'll find a vibrant environment where children and youth build confidence, creativity, cultural pride, discipline, and community connection through movement, rhythm, and performance. Our programs are designed to support cultural education, community connection, creativity, and access to the arts across Durham Region, fostering a new generation of leaders who will make a difference in our communities.
