Tigers Skate Club
The Ambush is an all-women, girls, trans, non-binary, and gender expansive skateboarding event and community day, taking place at Woodlands Skatepark in St. Albert on September 7, 2024. Founded by the Tigers Skate Club, a women and girls-focused skateboarding club based in Edmonton, Alberta, the event promotes community-building, friendly competition, and skill development in a safe and inclusive environment. The Tigers Skate Club, established in 2019, offers free weekly community skateboarding meetups for skaters of all levels, fostering a supportive environment for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. The club's mission is to empower skaters through peer-to-peer and intergenerational connections, building confidence and camaraderie. The event is held within Treaty 6 Territory and acknowledges the traditional territories of various First Nations.
