Craft Council of Newfoundland & Labrador
The Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador is proud to present the Made in Canada: Sustainable Fibre Arts Conference 2024, a unique event taking place in Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, from September 19 to 23, 2024. This conference focuses on sustainable textile practices and materials, discussing how to support rural and urban craft communities and move forward in the craft industry with sustainable planning. Through workshops, panels, presentations, and an exhibition, artists from diverse backgrounds will share their experiences with sustainable foraging and fibre use. The event aims to inspire attendees to develop their own fibre art while promoting environmental responsibility. By bringing together artists, makers, and craft enthusiasts, the conference aims to foster a community that values sustainability and respect for the land, water, and air.
