Islanders Sledge Hockey Club
The Islanders Sledge Hockey Club is a Canadian organization based in Markham, Ontario, dedicated to promoting inclusive and accessible ice hockey for players of all ages, genders, and abilities. Established in 1986, the club offers sledge hockey programs that allow individuals to experience the excitement of Canada's favorite sport while learning valuable teamwork skills. Sledge hockey is a modified version of traditional ice hockey played on a sled with specially designed sticks, and it has become a popular sport in the Paralympic Games. The club hosts the annual Champions Weekend in April, featuring playoff semifinals and finals for competitive levels. Through its programs and events, the Islanders Sledge Hockey Club aims to provide a fun and inclusive environment for players to grow and develop their skills.
