Okichitaw Indigenous Workshops & Seminars
Okichitaw Indigenous Combat Arts is a unique and powerful combat system rooted in Plains Indigenous Warfare techniques and tactics, embodying the spirit of the Plains Warrior. Based on traditional Plains Cree weaponry and movements, this practical art combines aggressive combat movements with the utilization of historical weapons such as tomahawk, lance, and gunstock warclub. With a focus on hand, foot, and body mechanics inspired by specific Plains Cree weaponry, Okichitaw aims to teach the traditions and techniques of the past to strengthen Indigenous nations for the future. As a global organization, Okichitaw offers online classes and workshops, as well as consulting services, from its headquarters in Toronto, Canada. By preserving and promoting Indigenous combat arts, Okichitaw seeks to honor the past while empowering the present.
