Toronto Jazz Explorers

The Toronto Jazz Explorers is a community-learning program founded in 2021, offering adult Jazz enthusiasts a collaborative ensemble experience to hone their skills, learn Jazz fundamentals, and have fun making music. Directed by Toronto-based saxophonist Mike Wark, the program focuses on small ensembles for an intimate workshop-style learning environment. With various ensemble levels and customized arrangements, the program caters to players of all levels and experience, from September to June. Toronto Jazz Explorers provides a unique Jazz education experience, emphasizing improvisation, theory, and performance. The program fosters a supportive community around Jazz education, perfect for mature students of Jazz.
