New Shoots Mentors Schools
New Shoots is a Vancouver-based creative writing mentorship program founded in 1985, providing a nurturing environment for emerging writers. As a partnership between UBC graduate students and Vancouver high schools, the organization fosters creativity and artistic growth among teens. With a legacy of mentoring critically-acclaimed writers, New Shoots aims to nurture a supportive community that welcomes all. The program offers resources for young writers, online workshops, and opportunities for publication. New Shoots is set to return to Vancouver schools for the 2024-25 school year.
