UBC Aqua Society
The UBC Aqua Society is Canada's oldest dive club, established in 1957, and is a non-profit organization run by students at the University of British Columbia. Located in the heart of the university, the club aims to build a community among local divers and foster a sense of adventure and exploration. As a PADI 5 Star Dive Centre, the UBC Aqua Society offers a range of courses from beginner to professional level, focusing on safe diving practices in cold water conditions. With a focus on socialization and fun, the club welcomes students and non-students alike, and offers membership benefits including rental gear discounts and exclusive events. By joining the UBC Aqua Society, divers can access high-quality training and equipment, while connecting with like-minded individuals.
