Kalamalka Flyfishers
The Kalamalka Fly Fishers Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation, protection, and restoration of fish habitats in the Vernon and surrounding areas, with a focus on fly fishing education and community engagement. As an avid fly fishing group, they offer classes, workshops, and self-help opportunities to learn various aspects of fly fishing, including casting, fly tying, and rod building. The society also produces a comprehensive guidebook, 'Flies & Fly Fishing Techniques', featuring 101 recommended flies for the BC interior lakes. With a strong emphasis on family-friendly activities, they aim to introduce children to fishing and fly fishing, regardless of age. By joining the Kalamalka Fly Fishers Society, members can connect with like-minded individuals and participate in various events and activities.
