Out of the Box Productions
Woodland Farm Artist Residency & Out of the Box Productions is a unique organization that brings together the worlds of agriculture and art, fostering a cooperative and symbiotic relationship between nature, farming, and creative expression. Located on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada, the farm honors the traditional lands of the Hul'qumi'num and SENĆOņ speaking peoples by donating 10% of residency fees to the Moose Hide Campaign, a grassroots movement to end violence against women and children. This organization offers various programs, including artist residencies, collective creation, intensive devised theatre, and devised theatre accelerators, all aimed at exploring the intersection of nature, agriculture, and art. With a focus on ecological and social influence, Woodland Farm Artist Residency & Out of the Box Productions seeks to inspire creativity and promote positive change. By supporting local and Indigenous-led initiatives, the organization contributes to a more sustainable and equitable future.
