Asil is a Windsor/Detroit-based textile studio and gallery that showcases the work of local artists, offering sewing classes, a studio, and a shop. Founded by multi-media artist Lisa Sylvestre, the studio combines her academic background in social sciences, community-learned quilting, and formal training in tailoring and photography. Asil provides a platform for emerging artists, hosting a bi-monthly community sewing circle and curating a diverse range of textile-based art. With a focus on community engagement and artistic expression, Asil is a hub for creative activity in Windsor and Detroit. Powered by Squarespace, the studio brings together artists and makers through its classes, gallery, and shop.
