Tofino Arts Council
The Tofino Arts Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing the creation and sharing of art within the outer coast communities, championing local artworks and productions to support the livelihoods and economic development of artists and creative industries. As an independent, inclusive voice for local artists and cultural organizations, the council achieves its mission through programming, workshops, small grants, and community partnerships. Operating on the ancestral lands and unceded territory of the tla-o-qui-aht and nuu-chah-nulth nations, the Tofino Arts Council prioritizes building long-lasting relationships and supports Indigenous artists through free memberships and donations to tribal parks. With the support of various partners, including the Canada Council and the British Columbia Arts Council, the council fosters a vibrant arts community in Tofino. By promoting cultural diversity and decolonizing arts and culture, the Tofino Arts Council aims to create a thriving arts ecosystem.
