V'ni Dansi Métis Traditional & Contemporary Dance

V'ni Dansi is a Vancouver-based traditional Métis and contemporary dance company dedicated to sharing the dances, stories, and culture of the Métis people. Led by Artistic Director Yvonne Chartrand, the company preserves and innovates Métis dance traditions while creating contemporary works that honor the ancestral memory of the body and the stories, history, and culture of the Métis people. With a focus on traditional Métis jigging and contemporary Métis jigging, V'ni Dansi is the only company in Canada to teach and perform both styles. The company's work celebrates the history of the great Métis leader Louis Riel and fosters a living relationship with the land and Mother Earth. Through its performances, workshops, and community collaborations, V'ni Dansi shares the joyful culture of the Métis people with audiences of all nations.
